Gorgeous, hand spun alpaca yarn. Hand harvested fleece from free range alpacas which graze on native, organic grasses. Fleece is sorted, hand carded into roving, and then carefully hand spun, double ply, on drop thimble. This large, chunky, rustic style yarn is great for quickly knitting easy hats and mittens.

Cultural Note: This yarn is hand spun by the Kayawalla people. They have their own language, though many also speak Quechua and Spanish. The Kayawalla are Bolivia's traditional healers. For over 5,000 years members have traveled through the Andes Mountains administering cures and medicines. The Kayawalla's alpaca herds are tended in the community homelands high in the Andes Mountains. This yarn is from Kayawalla communities.
