Affordable $950 includes all lodging, food, and in country transportation.
Travel to Bolivia, meet the KUSIKUY knitters, celebrate an Andean
Christmas.
Explore
the rural countryside. Participate in village festivals. Work on
a traditional altiplano farm. Tour un-excavated Inca ruins. Relax
and enjoy the rich Andean traditions that are strong part of everyday
Bolivian life. In Bolivia there is no word for "stress"
and people enjoy living in the same calm steady way they have been
for 5,000 years. Come and share in the tranquility of this rich
culture.
The
2009-2010 ECO TOUR will
take place
December
20, 2009-Jaunary3, 2010. Tours are customized to meet
physical needs, dietary restraints and personal interests. An English
speaking guide is with participants at all times. Small groups,
families with children, and/or individuals all welcome.
The
2009-2010 tour is $950. The tour includes shared hostel
rooms, and public transportation plus shared hotel lodging and taxis
where available. Tour price covers all: in country transportation,
hotel, food, additional lodging, guides, activities. Airfare and
Visa fee ($100) is not included.

TOUR includes:

Stroll the 500+ year old pre-colonial town of Arani and lunch
with the Quechua knitters.
- Participate
in the famous Urkupina Festival
- Sleep
over in the knitting compound *optional.
- Enjoy
a private knitting lesson *optional
- Visit
Las Molinas and see how flour is stone ground by water wheels.
- Taste
the famous hand made bread from adobe, wood fired ovens.
- Celebrate
local festivals and partake in area traditions.
- Shop
for your own beautiful hand made alpaca knits
- Explore
the culturally rich villages outside the city of Cochabamba.
- Enjoy
a breathtaking tour across the altiplano in a panoramic bus ride
from the tropical valleys of Cochabamba to the heights of La Paz.
- Visit
towns and markets off the beaten tourism path.
- Experience
the warmth and magic of authentic Bolivian culture.
- Help
care for animals (sheep,cows, llamas)and work with traditional
crops (quinoa, potatoes, wheat, beans) *optional.
- Take
custom guided tours by museum staff of Inca ruins and local fauna
- Visit
with shamans and traditional healers
Special
needs: Contact us regarding any special needs - physical, dietary,
etc. Most needs are easily accommodated. Tour takes place from 9,000
- 13,000 feet above sea level. Lower altitude options available.
